hahaha on the general cnn.com facebook status thing it's full of people going "wtf is this? is it even a poem? HUH?" lololol i don't like this poem either.

on 2009-01-20 05:47 pm (UTC)I wonder if there were certain Americanisms in it that just didn't translate. Your English is really incredibly good, but there are those quirks of language that are sometimes difficult in translation, even from American to British English. The poem was so American in symbolism and tropes, it strikes me that it would be odd to even British ears.
Of course, that was just my first take. I want to read it too. I'm going to have to look around on the internet.
